Meet our Dentists
Dr. Donna B. Rivera, DMD
Dr. Donna B. Rivera is the proud owner and the head dentist of Maya Dental Clinic. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Centro Escolar University in Manila, Philippines.
She passed the National Dental Examining Board of Canada in 2016, and practiced Dentistry in Vancouver before moving back to Edmonton to open her first clinic, Maya Dental Clinic-South in 2018. And in 2023, she opened her 2nd clinic, the Maya Dental Clinic- West.
With more than 20 years experience in Dentistry, she is able to provide high quality and treatment to her patients. Dr. Donna’s number one priority is to provide her patients an enjoyable and stress-free dental experience. She strongly believes that effective communication between doctor and patient is key to the success of treatment. As such, she takes time to explain to her patients the treatment options and procedures available to manage their expectations.
Dr. Donna is passionate about learning. She pursues continuing education here and abroad to further update herself with new technologies and innovations in her field.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Donna loves to travel with her husband, Malvin, and their two girls, Maya and Yumi.

Dr. Zainab Zeki, DDS
Dr. Zainab Zeki is passionate about giving you a beautiful, healthy smile. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2015 and has been helping people show off their pearly whites ever since. A 10-year resident of the Summerside community, Dr. Zainab Zeki believes in supporting her community through her career. Now, as a member of the team at Maya Dental, she can help her community members have their best smile.
Patient comfort, awareness, and education are all important to Dr. Zainab Zeki. She takes time to educate and engage all of her patients because she wants them to be as passionate about their oral health as she is. When you visit Dr. Zainab Zeki you can trust you will get the expert care and VIP treatment Maya Dental Clinic is known for. When she’s not helping you get your best smile, Dr. Zainab Zeki enjoys visiting the lake and working on craft projects with her daughters.
Dr. Kristina Belina Lapuz, DMD
Known as Dr. Bel by her patients, Dr. Kristina Belina Domingo Lapuz received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Centro Escolar University in Manila, Philippines in 2002. She took further training in UP-PGH for 6 months in their externship program for Oral Surgery. After earning her Canadian Dental License in 2020, she worked as an Associate Dentist in Ontario before relocating to Alberta.
She is friendly and dedicated general dentist whose focus is on evidence based and conservative practice. To her, the heart of dental care is taking the personalized approach so each patient can get the best treatment that they deserve. She has a passion for continuing education and the benefits it brings to her patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Bel enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 sons, as well as biking, doing yoga and taking road trips.
Dr. Kristina Belina Lapuz, DMD

Dr. Youky Shen
Dr. Shen grew up in South Edmonton and has received both her Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of Alberta.
She also completed Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Postdoctoral program at the Columbia University in New York City. This program gave her opportunities to work with a variety of patients with varying needs and challenges and collaborate with experienced professionals that strengthened her knowledge and experience as a dentist.
Dr. Shen believes in continuing education, taking up advanced courses to remain updated with the latest developments in modern dentistry.
She takes pride in delivering exceptional care for her patients to achieve their individual health goals. She takes time to get to know and listen to her patients to better address their needs and concerns.
In her free time Dr. Shen enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys playing board games and Pilates. You may even run into her on a local hiking trail.
She hopes to travel more and feed her appetite for adventure.
Dr. Susan Zhou

She began her career working in Toronto before moving back to Alberta where she gained a lot of experience working in a rural setting before moving to Edmonton. Dr. Susan is committed to delivering comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages.
Outside of the office you can find her in the mountains, either camping or snowboarding. Day to day, she enjoys watching Netflix and attending to her plants. Fluent in Mandarin, Dr. Susan values connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds, making sure they feel comfortable and understood during their dental visit.
